Cake. Who doesn’t love Cake. I could eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
My mother was not the kind that would be in the kitchen all day baking a cake from scratch and she sure wasn’t going to teach anyone how to do it. She was a great cook. She just hated a messy kitchen, and extrenuous cooking would mess up the kitchen. We did not have homemade round layer cakes growing up. We had the sheet cakes from Duncan Hines. But that was okay, I loved any kind of cake.
The old vintage Cake Keeper pictured here is not something my mother would have owned. But I know some mother’s would have. So when I saw this vintage Cake Keeper, I decided to bring it home and put it in my Etsy shop. http://www.etsy.com/shop/thevintageporch.
Maybe I will take a day off work and go buy some round cake pans and make a real homemade layer cake. Or look up my old friend Duncan Hines.
